Scenario 4: Industry Downfall

The most dire scenario in this analysis is definitely the case where the effects of climate change develop fully, and the lack of competence to solve these problems remains. Being left out to nature’s powers to its full extent, without possibilities to minimize the effects is truly a dystopic situation for the industry.  New solutions would be of highest importance to make the situation survivable. The industry needs technical, financial and developmental competence which is lacking. The expected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) would be negative, instead of the industry seeing positive development. Less people could have sailing as a hobby due to a reclining industry and a climate unsuitable for sailing in many parts of the world. A true downfall.
