SAFETY PROTOCOL
We prioritise the safety of our users and aim to ensure responsible and safe use of WaterWhisper. Therefore, we have developed this safety protocol/guideline to create a safe working environment by minimising risks and preventing accidents. It is important to us that all users of WaterWhisper familiarise themselves with this safety protocol and adhere to its guidelines. First and foremost, we recommend all users to
1. Buddy System
We require that no one uses WaterWhisper alone. Always have a partner present during operations in case of emergencies.
2. Risk Assessment and Site Evaluation
Conduct a comprehensive risk assessment specific to the deployment site, taking into account factors such as:

Water conditions, including currents, tides, and visibility.

Weather conditions and forecasted changes.

Proximity to other vessel traffic or human activities.

Evaluate the site's suitability based on safety considerations, including the presence of hazards or environmental risks.
3. Safety Equipment and Protective Gear
We recommend all users of WaterWhisper to use appropriate safety equipment and protective gear, which may include:

Life jackets or other buoyancy aids.

Diving/snorkeling equipment, including masks, fins, and dive suits if required.

Protective gear, such as gloves, goggles, or wetsuits based on your needs and conditions.

Emergency communication devices, such as waterproof radios or distress signaling equipment.
4. Buoy Inspection and Maintenance
Regularly conduct routines of the buoy and the associated components for signs of wear or damage, and fix issues if needed. These might include anchor lines, moorings, buoyancy elements, solar panels, power systems, casing, hydrophone and other waterproof elements​
5. Emergency Response Procedures
We recommend all users to establish protocols in case of emergencies or incidents, such as:​

Evacuation procedures in case of severe weather conditions, equipment failure, or other threats to your safety
6. Weather Monitoring and Operational Restrictions
We urge all users to monitor the weather conditions continuously. If there is even a slight possibility that storms or low visibility may be a risk to your safety we advise you to delay operations. Furthermore, always make sure to follow warnings issued by authorities. ​​
7. Communication and Coordination
Maintain effective communication among team members involved in operations. If you are planning on operating underwater, establish a communication plan with regular check-ins and emergency communication protocols.
